Picking Cotton is a memoir written about the case of Ronald Cotton, a man from North Carolina who was wrongfully convicted of rape in January of 1985. The story is told from both the viewpoint of Jennifer Thompson-Cannino (the rape victim) and Ronald Cotton. The purpose of this website is to provide details on the actual case, the causes of Cotton’s wrongful conviction, and the consequences of this case of injustice.
